360Learning

360Learning is a collaborative learning platform (LMS/LXP) that lets organizations create courses, run learning programs, and manage learners at scale. The 360Learning API v2 exposes learning data — users, courses and course statistics, groups, learning needs, paths, classrooms, skills, tags, custom fields, certificates, and webhooks — so you can sync it with your data warehouse and business systems.

Power end-to-end data operations for your 360Learning API with Nexla. Our bi-directional 360Learning connector is purpose-built for 360Learning, making it simple to ingest data, sync it across systems, and deliver it anywhere — all with no coding required. Nexla turns API-sourced data into ready-to-use, reusable data products and makes it easy to send data to 360Learning or any other destination. With comprehensive monitoring, lineage tracking, and access controls, Nexla keeps your 360Learning workflows fast, secure, and fully governed.

Prerequisites

Before creating a 360Learning credential, you need a set of API v2 credentials — a Client ID and a Client Secret — from your 360Learning platform. The API v2 uses the OAuth 2.0 client credentials grant: Nexla exchanges your client ID and secret at the token endpoint for a short-lived Bearer access token (valid for one hour), and automatically refreshes it as needed. Every request also carries the required 360-api-version: v2.0 header.

Only platform admins and platform owners can create API v2 credentials. To obtain your credentials, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your 360Learning platform with a platform admin or platform owner account.

  2. In the left sidebar, hover over your platform group, then click the gear icon to open Settings.

  3. In the Settings menu, navigate to API v2.

  4. Click + Add API Credentials.

  5. Enter a descriptive label for the credentials (for example, "Nexla Integration") and select the scopes/permissions appropriate for your use case.

  6. After the credentials are created, copy the Client Secret immediately. The client secret is displayed only once at creation time and cannot be retrieved again afterward — store it securely.

  7. Note your Client ID, which remains available at any time on the API Credentials screen in the admin panel.

The token endpoint used to exchange these credentials for an access token is https://app.360learning.com/api/v2/oauth2/token. Each company can maintain a maximum of 10 API credentials. If a client secret is ever compromised, revoke the affected credentials in the API v2 settings and create a new set. For complete details, see the 360Learning API v2 documentation and the Authentication guide.

Authenticate

Credentials required

OAuth 2.0 client credentials grant. Supply client_id/client_secret; Nexla exchanges these for a Bearer token, sent with the required 360-api-version: v2.0 header.

FieldRequiredSecretDescription
Client IDYesNoOAuth2 client ID generated in the 360Learning admin console under API credentials.
Client SecretYesYesOAuth2 client secret generated alongside the client ID in the 360Learning admin console.
Token URLYesNoOAuth2 token endpoint used to exchange client credentials for an access token.

Create a credential in Nexla

  1. After selecting the data source/destination type, click the Add Credential tile to open the Add New Credential overlay.

  2. Enter a name for the credential in the Credential Name field and a short, meaningful description in the Credential Description field.

  3. Enter your 360Learning Client ID in the corresponding field. This is the OAuth2 client ID from the API Credentials screen in your 360Learning admin panel.

  4. Enter your Client Secret in the corresponding field. This is the OAuth2 client secret you copied when the credentials were created, and it must be kept confidential.

  5. Enter the Token URL used to exchange the client credentials for an access token. This defaults to https://app.360learning.com/api/v2/oauth2/token.

  6. Click the Save button at the bottom of the overlay. The newly added credential will now appear in a tile on the Authenticate screen during data source/destination creation.

Use as a data source

To create a new data flow, navigate to the Integrate section, and click the New Data Flow button. Select the 360Learning connector tile, then select the credential that will be used to connect to the 360Learning platform, and click Next; or, create a new 360Learning credential for use in this flow.

Manual configuration

360Learning data sources can also be manually configured to ingest data from any valid 360Learning API v2 endpoint, including endpoints not covered by the pre-built templates, chained API calls, or custom request parameters. Select the Advanced tab at the top of the configuration screen, and follow the instructions in Connect to Any API to configure the API method, endpoint URL, date/time and lookup macros, path to data, metadata, and request headers.

All 360Learning API v2 requests require the 360-api-version: v2.0 request header. When configuring an endpoint manually, be sure to include this header.

Once all of the relevant settings have been configured, click the Create button in the upper right corner of the screen to save and create the new 360Learning data source. Nexla will now begin ingesting data from the configured endpoint and will organize any data that it finds into one or more Nexsets.

Use as a destination

Click the + icon on the Nexset that will be sent to the 360Learning destination, and select the Send to Destination option from the menu. Select the 360Learning connector from the list of available destination connectors, then select the credential that will be used to connect to the 360Learning platform, and click Next; or, create a new 360Learning credential for use in this flow.

Endpoint templates

Nexla provides pre-built templates that can be used to rapidly configure destinations to send data to common 360Learning endpoints. Select the endpoint to which data will be sent from the Endpoint pulldown menu. Then, click on the template in the list below to expand it, and follow the instructions to configure additional endpoint settings.

Manual configuration

360Learning destinations can also be manually configured to send data to any valid 360Learning API v2 endpoint. Select the Advanced tab at the top of the configuration screen, and follow the instructions in Connect to Any API to configure the API method, data format, endpoint URL, request headers, attribute exclusions, record batching, and response webhooks.

360Learning API v2 endpoints expect JSON request bodies and require the 360-api-version: v2.0 request header. For update or delete operations, include the ID of the target object at the end of the endpoint URL.

Save & activate

Once all endpoint settings have been configured, click the Done button in the upper right corner of the screen to save and create the destination. To send the data to the configured 360Learning endpoint, open the destination resource menu, and select Activate.

The Nexset data will not be sent to the 360Learning endpoint until the destination is activated. Destinations can be activated immediately or at a later time, providing full control over data movement.
