Prerequisites

Before creating a ManagerPlus credential, you need to obtain your API key from your ManagerPlus account. ManagerPlus uses API key authentication for all API requests, with the API key sent in the Authorization header with the Bearer prefix.

To obtain your API key, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your ManagerPlus account using your administrator credentials.

  2. Navigate to the Settings or Administration section in your ManagerPlus dashboard.

  3. Look for the API or API Keys section in the settings menu.

  4. If you don't have an API key yet, click Generate API Key or Create API Key to create a new API key.

  5. Copy the API key immediately after it's generated, as it may not be accessible again after you navigate away from the page.

  6. Store the API key securely, as you will need it to configure your Nexla credential. The API key provides access to your ManagerPlus data and should be treated as sensitive information.

The API key is sent in the Authorization header with the Bearer prefix (e.g., Authorization: Bearer {api_key}) for all API requests to the ManagerPlus API. The key authenticates your requests and grants access to ManagerPlus resources based on your account permissions. If your API key is compromised, you should immediately revoke it in your ManagerPlus account settings and generate a new one. For detailed information about API authentication, available endpoints, and API usage, refer to the ManagerPlus API documentation.

Create a credential in Nexla

  1. After selecting the data source/destination type, click the Add Credential tile to open the Add New Credential overlay.

  1. Enter a name for the credential in the Credential Name field and a short, meaningful description in the Credential Description field.

  2. Enter your ManagerPlus API key in the API Key Value field. This is the API key you obtained from your ManagerPlus account in Prerequisites. The API key is sent in the Authorization header with the Bearer prefix for all API requests to the ManagerPlus API and must be kept confidential.

Your ManagerPlus API key can be found in your ManagerPlus account settings under the API or API Keys section. The API key is sent in the Authorization: Bearer {api_key} header for all API requests to the ManagerPlus API. If your API key is compromised, you should immediately revoke it in your ManagerPlus account settings and generate a new one. The API key provides access to your ManagerPlus data and should be treated as sensitive information. For detailed information about API authentication, available endpoints, and API usage, see the ManagerPlus API documentation.

  3. Click the Save button at the bottom of the overlay. The newly added credential will now appear in a tile on the Authenticate screen during data source/destination creation.

Use as a data source

To create a new data flow, navigate to the Integrate section, and click the New Data Flow button. Select the ManagerPlus connector tile, then select the credential that will be used to connect to your ManagerPlus account, and click Next; or, create a new ManagerPlus credential for use in this flow.

Endpoint templates

Nexla provides pre-built templates that can be used to rapidly configure data sources to ingest data from common ManagerPlus endpoints. Select the endpoint from which this source will fetch data from the Endpoint pulldown menu. Available endpoint templates are listed in the expandable boxes below.

List a given resource

This endpoint template retrieves a list of resources from your ManagerPlus account, such as Addresses, Employees, Work Orders, Assets, or other resource types. Use this template when you need to retrieve all records of a specific resource type from your ManagerPlus account. The endpoint uses pagination to handle large datasets efficiently.

  • Enter the resource type in the Resource type field. This should be the name of the ManagerPlus resource you want to retrieve, such as Addresses, Employees, WorkOrders, Assets, or any other available resource type. The resource type is used to construct the API endpoint URL (e.g., https://bulktransportcorp.managerpluscloud.com/api2/Addresses). Ensure you use the exact resource type name as defined in the ManagerPlus API.

This endpoint automatically handles pagination using offset-based pagination with $skip and $top query parameters. Nexla will automatically fetch subsequent pages of data by incrementing the offset value. The endpoint expects approximately 100 rows per page, but the actual page size may vary based on your ManagerPlus account configuration.

For detailed information about available resource types, API endpoints, and pagination, see the ManagerPlus API documentation.

Once the selected endpoint template has been configured, click the Test button to the right of the endpoint selection menu to retrieve a sample of the data that will be fetched. Sample data will be displayed in the Endpoint Test Result panel on the right, allowing you to verify that the source is configured correctly before saving.

Manual configuration

ManagerPlus data sources can also be manually configured to ingest data from any valid ManagerPlus API endpoint, including endpoints not covered by the pre-built templates, chained API calls, or custom request parameters. Select the Advanced tab at the top of the configuration screen, and follow the instructions in Connect to Any API to configure the API method, endpoint URL, date/time and lookup macros, path to data, metadata, and request headers.

ManagerPlus API endpoints typically use the GET method and follow the pattern https://<instance>.managerpluscloud.com/api2/<ResourceType> (e.g., https://bulktransportcorp.managerpluscloud.com/api2/Addresses). The API uses offset-based pagination via the $skip and $top query parameters, with an expected page size of approximately 100 rows. Set the Response Data Path to $.[*] to extract all items from the response array. For detailed information about available resource types and pagination, see the ManagerPlus API documentation.

Once all of the relevant settings have been configured, click the Next button to proceed with the rest of the data flow configuration, or click Save to save the data source configuration for later use.

Use as a destination

Click the + icon on the Nexset that will be sent to the ManagerPlus destination, and select the Send to Destination option from the menu. Select the ManagerPlus connector from the list of available destination connectors, then select the credential that will be used to connect to your ManagerPlus account, and click Next; or, create a new ManagerPlus credential for use in this flow.

Endpoint templates

Nexla provides pre-built templates that can be used to rapidly configure destinations to send data to common ManagerPlus endpoints. Select the endpoint to which data will be sent from the Endpoint pulldown menu. Then, click on the template in the list below to expand it, and follow the instructions to configure additional endpoint settings.

Create new

This endpoint template creates a new resource entry in your ManagerPlus account, such as a new Address, Employee, Work Order, Asset, or other resource type. Use this template when you need to create new records in ManagerPlus from your data flow.

  • Enter the resource type in the Resource type field. This should be the name of the ManagerPlus resource you want to create, such as Addresses, Employees, WorkOrders, Assets, or any other available resource type. The resource type is used to construct the API endpoint URL (e.g., https://bulktransportcorp.managerpluscloud.com/api2/Addresses). Ensure you use the exact resource type name as defined in the ManagerPlus API.

This endpoint sends data as JSON in the request body to create a new resource entry in ManagerPlus. The data structure must match the ManagerPlus API's expected format for the specified resource type. Ensure your data flow provides the required fields for the resource type you're creating.

For detailed information about available resource types, API endpoints, required fields, and data formats, see the ManagerPlus API documentation.

Manual configuration

ManagerPlus destinations can also be manually configured to send data to any valid ManagerPlus API endpoint. Select the Advanced tab at the top of the configuration screen, and follow the instructions in Connect to Any API to configure the API method, data format, endpoint URL, request headers, attribute exclusions, record batching, and response webhooks.

ManagerPlus destinations typically use the POST method against the same https://<instance>.managerpluscloud.com/api2/<ResourceType> endpoint pattern used for data sources. Configure the request body format as {message.json} to send the entire Nexset record as JSON; the data must match the ManagerPlus API's expected format for the target resource type. For detailed information, see the ManagerPlus API documentation.

Save & activate

Once all endpoint settings have been configured, click the Done button in the upper right corner of the screen to save and create the destination. To send the data to the configured ManagerPlus endpoint, open the destination resource menu, and select Activate.

The Nexset data will not be sent to the ManagerPlus endpoint until the destination is activated. Destinations can be activated immediately or at a later time, providing full control over data movement.
