Authorization

Datascope
Prerequisites
To connect Nexla to DataScope, you need a DataScope account with API access enabled and your personal API key. The DataScope External API uses API key authentication — every request must include your API key in the Authorization request header.
Obtain Your DataScope API Key
DataScope API keys are generated from within your DataScope account settings. Follow these steps to retrieve your key:
-
Sign in to your DataScope account at www.mydatascope.com.
-
Navigate to the Integrations section of your account settings. This is typically accessible from the main navigation menu or your account profile.
-
Locate the API or API Key option within the Integrations section.
-
Copy the API key displayed. Store this key in a secure location — it will be used to authenticate all API requests made by Nexla on your behalf.
For complete information about the DataScope External API and authentication, refer to the DataScope API documentation and the DataScope API Reference.
Keep your DataScope API key confidential. Anyone with access to the key can make API requests on behalf of your account. If you believe your key has been compromised, regenerate it from the DataScope Integrations settings immediately.
Create a Datascope Credential
- To create a new Datascope credential, after selecting the data source/destination type, click the Add Credential tile to open the Add New Credential overlay.
Credential Name & Description
-
Enter a name for the credential in the Credential Name field and a short, meaningful description in the Credential Description field.
Resource descriptions are recommended but are not required. They should be used to provide information about the resource purpose, data freshness, etc. that can help the owner and other users efficiently understand and utilize the resource.
API Key Authentication
DataScope uses API key authentication. The API key is passed in the Authorization request header for every API call made to the DataScope External API.
-
Enter your DataScope API key in the API Key Value field. This is the key you copied from the DataScope Integrations settings (see Prerequisites above). The key authenticates Nexla with the DataScope External API and authorizes access to your account's data.
The DataScope API key is a sensitive credential. Nexla stores this value securely and uses it only to authenticate requests to the DataScope External API on your behalf.
Save the Credential
-
Once all of the relevant steps in the above sections have been completed, click the Save button at the bottom of the overlay to save the configured credential.
-
The newly added credential will now appear in a tile on the Authenticate screen during data source/destination creation and can be selected for use with a new data source or destination.
