Prerequisites
Before creating a Grade us credential, you need to obtain an API key from your Grade us account. The API key is required to authenticate with the Grade us API.
To obtain your API key, you need to have a Grade us account. Once you have access to your account, you can view and manage your API keys in your account settings. The API key is sent in the Authorization header for all API requests to the Grade us API. For detailed information about API key setup and authentication, refer to the Grade.us API documentation.

Endpoint templates
Nexla provides pre-built templates that can be used to rapidly configure data sources to ingest data from common Grade us endpoints. Select the endpoint from which this source will fetch data from the Endpoint pulldown menu. Available endpoint templates are listed in the expandable boxes below.
Once the selected endpoint template has been configured, click the Test button to the right of the endpoint selection menu to retrieve a sample of the data that will be fetched. Sample data will be displayed in the Endpoint Test Result panel on the right, allowing you to verify that the source is configured correctly before saving.
Manual configuration
Grade us data sources can be manually configured to ingest data from any valid Grade us API endpoint. Manual configuration provides maximum flexibility for accessing endpoints not covered by pre-built templates or when you need custom API configurations.
With manual configuration, you can also create more complex Grade us sources, such as sources that use custom query parameters, different HTTP methods, or custom data transformations.
Content Format
- Select the format in which the data from the Grade us API will be received from the Content Format pulldown menu. Nexla will automatically parse the data in the selected format. The Grade.us API typically returns data in JSON format.
API Endpoint URL
- Enter the URL of the Grade us API endpoint from which this source will fetch data in the Set API URL field. This should be the complete URL including the protocol (https://) and any required path parameters. Grade.us API endpoints typically follow the pattern
https://grade.us/api/v4/{endpoint_path}.
Ensure the API endpoint URL is correct and accessible with your current credentials. You can test the endpoint using the Test button after configuring the URL. The endpoint requires API Key authentication via the Authorization header, which is handled automatically by your credential configuration. For detailed information about Grade.us API endpoints and available APIs, see the Grade.us API documentation.
Use as a destination
Click the + icon on the Nexset that will be sent to the Grade us destination, and select the Send to Destination option from the menu. Select the Grade us connector from the list of available destination connectors, then select the credential that will be used to connect to the Grade us organization, and click Next; or, create a new Grade us credential for use in this flow.
